Great Astronomical Images

This CD-ROM contains images of astronomical objects which are both very interesting as photographs or images and for the science that they illustrate. The sources were selected mostly from images available on the internet.
The purpose of this CD-ROM is to interest people in science, especially astronomy and geology. Most people find scientific images far more accessible than other forms of scientific data. These images were selected to be those that many people would like to have copies.
This non-commercial CD-ROM is distributed solely for educational purposes. The text material are based on the materials accompanying the images at the internet sites cited above and identify the original image number. In some cases this is material is relatively unchanged while in others it has been extensively edited and rewritten. In the former case (as well as any questionable cases) the copyright belongs to the original source while in the later to the Outreach Consortium who assembled this CD-ROM. The translations into languages other than English are copyright.
