Corrected Effective Area

 

The corrected effective area file is a table produced by the spectral correction procedure correct/spectrum. It consists of three columns and must have the file type EFC.     Two columns contain the energy grid (central energies and widths of energy bins), at which the effective area of the mirror is known. The content of the third column is the effective area seen by the source and corrected for detector efficiencies, dead time, imaging errors of the mirror, and filter transmissions.   How these corrections are performed is described in chapter 4 about Data Preparation. This table will stay associated to the observed count rate spectrum. The column labels with corresponding units are collected in Table 6.3.
