Parameter files are ASCII files with 80 characters per line and any number of lines. They have the file extension .par. There are lines specifying a parameter and there are comment lines. Comment lines start with an exclamation mark (!). Lines specifying a parameter start with a keyword followed by the value of the keyword and a description of the parameter. This description is preceded by an exclamation mark like a comment.
