Creation of a Point Spread Function Model Profile

 

The ROSAT PSPC and HRI point spread function is available in the calibration area of EXSAS EXSAS_CAL in table form. Tables are created for the on-axis case and then for off-axis angles in steps of 5 arcmin up to 60 arcmin for ROSAT PSPC and up to 20 arcmin for ROSAT HRI.

If one is interested in the point spread function for another off-axis angle one can create it with the command MAKE/PSF_MODEL_PROFILE.

MAKE/PSF_MODEL_PROFILE psf_table offax [model] [experi]

 

• psf_table : name of the point spread function model profile table to be created
• offax : off-axis angle (arcmin) of model profile
• model : onax (on-axis model), ofax (off-axis model), ofaxg (Gaussian off-axis model for ROSAT,HRI)
• experi : experiment (ROSAT,PSPC (=default), or ROSAT,HRI)
