The Irregular Galaxy M82

From the National Optical Astronomical Observatories

This composite color image of M82 (NGC 3034), an irregular galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major was created from CCD observations made at the Kitt Peak National Observatory's 0.9-meter telescope in late December 1994.
