Globular cluster are kept together by their mutual gravitational attraction. They contain between a few hundred to a million stars and are contemporary of the galaxy's formation they belong to. They are mostly located around the galaxies, making them the most distant objects we can observe in our Galaxy. The density in the center of globular clusters can be as high as a few thousands of stars per cubic parsec. The range of colors of those stars their different stellar types.
