This Apollo 12 photograph taken from lunar orbit shows the Davy crater chain, extending about 50 km across the floor of crater Davy Y. The large crater at the top of the image is Davy crater, 34 km in diameter and centered at 11.8 S, 8.1 W. The crater chain could be due to secondary impact craters, or multiple impacts from a Shoemaker-Levy 9 type object. North is to the right.
