- aka The Seven Sisters, Subaru
- The Pleiades is easily visible with the naked eye.
- The seven "sisters" are
Alcyone,
Asterope (a double star),
Electra,
Maia,
Merope,
Taygeta and
Celaeno;
Atlas and Pleione are their "father" and "mother".
- This cluster also includes over 500 dimmer stars spread over an area
four times wider than the Moon.
