NATIONAL OPTICAL OBSERVATORY SITE

Site is presently under construction and we hope to be fully operational by the end of 1997.

Site will be operated as the national observatory under the administration of TUG Institute of TUBITAK(Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey), located approximately 50 kilometers north of Antalya, Turkey. There will be two joint facilities: 1.5 and 0.40 meter telescopes. The 1.5 m telescope is a joint project between IKI RAN (Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences), EAO (Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory) and Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey. The 0.40 m telescope is donated by University of UTRECHT.
