There are two levels of commands in XPI, GTBUF and GTCOM commands. GTBUF internal commands are always enclosed by % symbols such as %ED%. All these commands can be spelled out in full, or abbreviated.

The following gives a list of current GTBUF commands:

The last three of these are really only for debugging

Along similar lines, but actually a part of Xselect, is that for all the commands of the verb verb_what form, if you just type the verb and hit a return, you will be given a list of possible sub commands, and prompted for the verb_what parameter again, i.e.

xsel > extract<ret>
