This animation was created in several steps. First I created a large 256x256
image and created the G, the glow and the background using the supernova
filter. I then made a new 150x150 image. I moved the background slightly for
each frame, flattened the image, and copied the same 150x150 pixel area I had
selected earlier. I then pasted this onto the new image, made it a new layer,
and undid the flatten on the other image so I could keep moving it around.
After I got it too look the way I wanted, I scaled it down to 22x22 pixels. The
animation playback plug-in for the gimp is truly awesome. I had a lot of fun
doing this, as it is my first time entering a gimp contest.
Looks kinda X-Filesish, eh?
